CAFFEINE ANHYDROUS

Caffeine is the most well-known central nervous system stimulant. It is a potent ingredient which increases wakefulness, alertness and total power output.

The FSA (Food Standards Agency) has outlined that a daily total of 400mg of caffeine is safe for healthy adults over 18 years of age.

*RAGEPHASE has 350mg of combined caffeine in 2 scoops*

DI-CAFFEINE MALATE

Di Caffeine Malate is a compound divided into two ingredients, caffeine powder and malic acid, the ratio is typically 75% caffeine powder and 25% malic acid. The malic acid is used to help buffer the release of caffeine, giving a source of slow-release caffeine. This works in two ways, it will help minimise the associated post-caffeine energy crash and also prolong the stimulants effects.

L-CITRULLINE

L-Citrulline boosts nitric oxide levels within the body. Nitric oxide is made naturally within our bodies and plays a vital role within cardiovascular health, it helps dilate blood vessels through vasodilatation, this results in more oxygenated blood to be delivered to the working muscles and an increase in overall performance.

L-TYROSINE

L-Tyrosine is an non-essential amino acid that is used by the body to produce proteins, hormones and neurotransmitters for example, dopamine, epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline). Dopamine helps to regulate mood and increase cognitive function. Epinephrine and Norepinephrine collectively helps to regulate stress by triggering the “flight or fight” response, this results in improved alertness and an increase in blow flood to the heart, lungs and working muscles allowing more oxygen and nutrients to be delivered.

BETA ALANINE

Beta Alanine is an non-essential amino acid that is produced naturally within the body by the liver, it is also found within certain foods. Beta alanine helps to produce a compound called carnosine. Carnosine is stored within brain and muscle tissues. During exercise hydrogen ions accumulate within the working muscle(s) and the carnosine acts as a buffer against hydrogen ions this delays onset muscular fatigue and allows for better performance in high intensity exercise. It is well-known by its paraesthesia (pins and needles) effects when consumed at effective dosages.

MALIC ACID

Malic Acid is found within many fruits and vegetables. It indirectly increases ATP production, It does this as it is a component of Krebs cycle. To elaborate, supplementing malic acid can increase the speed of the Krebs cycle, this cycle is a specific part of the larger process known as cellular respiration, in which cells generate energy. They do this through a series of enzymatic reactions to break down carbohydrates this produces ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). ATP is a cell’s primary energy source through a normal day or in this case your gym session. More ATP leads to increased energy levels and exercise capacity this will also reduce muscular fatigue within your workout.

CDP CHOLINE

CDP Choline is naturally occurring chemical compound found within the brain. When ingested CDP choline breaks down into choline and cytidine. Choline is precursor to produce the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and increase cholinergic activity within the brain. Increased acetylcholine improves cognitive function, memory, learning, focus, alertness and better muscular contractions.

L-THEANINE

L-Theanine is a non-essential amino acid which can be extracted from green or black tea. It primarily interacts with the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) to influence alpha brain waves, as it increases GABA levels this promotes the generation of alpha brain waves and results in relaxation and calmness without inducing drowsiness. It has also been shown to reduce anxiety and aid in stress reduction.

As L-theanine interacts with GABA receptors this indirectly helps to increase dopamine and serotonin release, both neurotransmitters have mood-boosting effects.

L-theanine can be combined with caffeine to further increase cognitive function by mitigating the jittery effects of caffeine whilst maintaining alertness.

HUPERZINE A

Huperzine A is a natural compound found within the plant, Huperzia Serrata. Huperzine A is a potent inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, meaning that it prevents the breakdown of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. This thereby increases acetylcholine levels within the brain and enhancing cholinergic activity. The increase in cholinergic activity has been shown to improve cognitive function, memory and learning. Acetylcholine Is also the primary neurotransmitter that stimulates muscle fibres to contract (muscular contractions) during exercise.
